Beginning of the 2000 years. At an airport, I became aware of a very distressing situation : businessmen wearing parkas over their formal suit. Unfortunately, the jacket is too short and uncomfortable this ‘faux pas’ has to be corrected. Xavier Aujard designs a jacket long and covering with graphic lines, which is protective and resistant to the rain and wind. The garment is light and full of hidden details; the new generation ‘ready to go’ parka is born.
Very androgynous at the beginning, the collections have evolved towards more feminity and sensuality , while remaining functional with a nomad approach.
The deliberate choice of technical and water repellant fabrics, like coated linen or neoprene, signs an urban collection with a sophisticated twist.
Since 2012 the brand has extended the product offer to warm coats made in cashmere and wool and most of it in genuine Harris Tweed from Scotland, which enhances the authentic aspect of the brand.
2017 : launching of a short capsule called LIFE JACKET , intended for an urban user always on the go. All seams are taped for a maximal protection, detachable pockets, eyelets for smartphones and many functional details.
Xavier Aujard created the concept of PRET POUR PARTIR and then launched the brand in 2008. He is artistic director and CEO of the Company.
Before that, he occupied management and marketing positions for international brands such as ESPRIT, KWAY and Caterpillar footwear.
